This LEED Silver Certification project involved the construction of a new Sports Center Complex located on Edes Avenue at Ira Jinkins Park. ENGEO provided special inspection and materials testing services involving structural steel, structural masonry, reinforced concrete and shotcrete construction through our On-Call Contract with the City of Oakland. Phase 1 included 22,500 square feet of building floor space with an indoor recreational swimming pool, reception area with offices, changing rooms, rest rooms, a dance/exercise room, a multi-purpose room/learning center, fitness center, outdoor basketball courts and a new parking lot. In addition to the Phase 1 elements, the Master Plan includes a 50,000-square-foot building complex with a 2-court basketball feature and an elevated running track. Additional outdoor features include a competitive swimming pool, two new baseball/softball fields and three new soccer fields.
