Project Overview
cali

From 2004-2009 ENGEO collaborated with the Dougherty Valley High School project Civil Engineer to provide value-engineering optimizations that eliminated the need to off-haul ¼ million cubic yards of soil, saving the project an estimated $2.5 million dollars. This state-of-the-art high school includes four two-story classroom buildings, a library/commons building, a 400-seat theater, a Career Tech Building, an administration building, a main gymnasium, an auxiliary gymnasium, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, basketball courts, baseball fields, softball fields, soccer/lacrosse fields, a football stadium with bleacher seating and a rubberized track, tennis courts, and approximately 700 student parking stalls with a solar panel canopy.

E
Engeo's Role

ENGEO provided a full range of geotechnical services including geotechnical exploration comprising of soil borings, cone penetration testing, and sophisticated laboratory testing. In addition, ENGEO provided a geotechnical and seismic hazards analysis of the site including probabilistic earthquake ground-motion estimates, mitigation measures for the highly expansive on-site soil materials, and remedial grading and foundation recommendations for the proposed structures and pavements planned for the project.
